Echoes and Edges | Poetry and music collective based in Bristol

who are we?

Echoes and Edges is a collective of Bristol based poets and musicians, working together on ideas that merge spoken word with improvised and composed pieces of music. Through a combination of musical improvisation, atmospheric field recordings and soulful vocals, we transform the poems into sonic pictures of memories and moments.

We are three poets and two musicians:

Gillie Harries
Gillie Harries is an engaging poet / performer, published both here and in Australia - poet in the pool at Bristol lido and working towards publication of her first collection

Tim Vosper
Tim performs short, quirky, silly poems, covering a diverse range of cutting edge issues such as his favourite dance moves and a hedgehog called Dave.

David Punter
David Punter is a well-known Bristol writer, winner of various prizes, and author of ‘The Bristol Sonnets’ and five volumes of poetry.

Charlie Frances
Charlie is a jazz vocalist, singer-songwriter and vocal coach who is involved in a number of projects including her own solo project of live-looped neo-soul as well as jazz and swing dance bands.

Jakob op den Brouw
Jakob is a sonic artist and multi-instrumentalist creating music and performances inspired by life, travel, found sounds, and the world.
